Reducing prescription drug costs

I'm happy to share with you information from the Dept. of Health Care Policy and Financing about a new program that could lower your prescription drug costs. The Colorado Cares Rx Program allows Colorado residents a way to buy generic prescription medicines at a discounted price. The Department has teamed with Rx Outreach – a leading mail order patient assistance program – to offer this valuable program.

Who is eligible?
Colorado residents of all ages who earn less than the maximum income levels. For a family of four, the maximum is $63,600/year or $5,300/month. What does it cost?
Enrollment is free.
Medicines cost $20, $30 or $40 for a 90-day supply.
There are no other charges – shipping and handling are included.

Which prescription medicines are available?
More than 125 generic prescription medicines are available. Prescriptions are filled by pharmacists.

How is a prescription filled?
Prescriptions must be written for a 90-day period and may include approval for refills.
Prescriptions and payment must be mailed to Rx Outreach.

Medicines are delivered to the address you choose.

A refill form is included with shipments for easy reordering.

Refills can be ordered through the mail or by calling 1-800-769-3880.

How does someone apply?
Applications can be downloaded from www.ColoradoCaresRx.com .

An application must be completed and mailed to Rx Outreach.
